A Global Fund Raising and Virtual Relay
What began as a leisurely day on the shore turned into an impossible choice — a passerby dove into the current to save two drowning men. He reached one of the men and pulled his unconscious body to safety, but a second man—an orphan known only as "Money"—was swept away and never found.
The 5,000km Swim
Together, we will swim 5,000 km—the distance from Singapore to India—in honor of Money's unfinished journey home. Every lap, lake, and open-water swim logged becomes part of this tribute.

How to Participate?
1. Register for event
Connect your account to your STRAVA before the challenge starts.
2. Share your profile
Share your profile with your friends & family and tell them why you are raising funds for the Hope and Joy Foundation. Raise a minimum of USD 30 to qualify for the leaderboard!
3. Start Swimming!
Once you have raised the minimum amount of USD 30, you're good to go! Open the STRAVA app, select "Swim", and jump into the water to start logging your distances.
4. Track your progress
Monitor your personal and team rankings, logged activities, and distance milestones live on the Event Leaderboard.
5. Unlock Achievements
Keep swimming to hit your goals! Complete your targets to download your well-deserved E-Certificate of achievement.

The Journey Begins
Nico is returning to those exact coordinates to begin an unprecedented 6-hour circumnavigation swim of Singapore’s Southern Islands—guided by Rajnish, the very man he saved. In a powerful act of closure, the survivor will lead the way from a kayak, literally guiding his rescuer through the water that nearly took both their lives.

For over two decades, the Hope and Joy Foundation (Fundación Esperanza y Alegría) has provided healthcare, safety, and education to orphaned children in India—breaking the cycle of poverty for those who have no one else.
